Ryszard Hejmanowski

Professor

I received an MSc degree in Geodesy and Cartography from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow, Poland, in 1983. Afterwards, I worked as a researcher at TU Clausthal, Germany, where I graduated with a PhD in 1993. During my stay in Germany, I was a designer and developer of my own software for land subsidence prediction due to oil and gas extraction. After returning to Cracow, I worked as an Assistant Professor on rock mass modeling and land subsidence issues at my Alma Mater. I have adapted my own software for other raw material deposits (salt, coal, copper ore). After receiving a DSc position in 2004, I worked on issues relating to GIS, geohazards and risk assessment. I have been a full professor since 2015.

I am currently a Dean of the Faculty of Geo-Data Science, Geodesy and Environmental Engineering at the AGH University of Science and Technology and head of the Land Subsidence and Hazard Mitigation Research Group.
