Jaroslaw KOZLAK works as an assistant professor (Polish: "adiunkt") at the Department of Computer Science of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, Poland . He is affiliated to the Intelligent Information Systems Group led by Professor Krzysztof Cetnarowicz .
He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science (distributed artificial intelligence and multi-agent systems) from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (INPG), France and AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow, Poland in 2000 for the thesis entitled Maintenance of the functional integrity in the open multi-agent systems . During years 2002-2003 and 2005 he was working at the Technical University of Belfort Montbeliard (UTMB), France as maitre de conferences. In 2014 he obtained D.Sc. degree (habilitation) for the work Agent models of transport and road traffic .
His main domains of research are: multi-agent systems, modern heuristic approaches, transportation and traffic modelling and optimization, and social network analysis.
Jaroslaw Kozlak is an author and co-author of more than 100 scientific papers. He was a Conference Co-Chair of the 4th International Conference on Behavioral, Economic, and Socio-Cultural Computing (BESC 2017), organised at AGH UST, 16-18 October, 2017, co-organised the AATMO (Agent-based Approaches for Transportation Modelling and Optimisation) workshops during International Conference on Practical Applications of Agents and Multi-Agent Systems (PAAMS) 2013 and 2014 as one of co-chairs, and was a chair of Social Computing and Applications track during the International Conference on Behavioral, Economic, and Socio-Cultural Computing (BESC) 2016 conference. He has supervised 53 successfully completed M.Sc. theses.
