The LIP library was designed
as a runtime support for
irregular and
out-of-core problems.
Irregular applications
require the computation of
some properties for a set of elements that are
irregularly distributed in a domain. These applications
result in codes which implements access to data arrays
through one or more levels of indirect arrays which are
not defined until runtime.
If you know nothing about irregular problems consult
the irregular problems tutorial
.
Out-of-core applications
deal with data sets that are too large
to fit into the main memory.
To learn more about out-of-core problems read
the OOC problems tutorial
.
LIP features :
multi--language support
which takes into account the languages currently
used in scientific computations
portability guaranteed
through MPI low level API standard
efficiency of
performance achieved by load balancing and
optimization techniques
