Your Erasmus Journey Guide

01

Formalities

Before leaving, make sure you have all the necessary documents - information questionnaire, language certificate, Learning Agreement (LA), EHIC.

Additionally, find out about the formalities required in the destination country, such as residence registration, foreigner identification number, etc.

02

Financial Planning

The costs at the start of your stay can be high, so it’s important to be well-prepared:

  • Deposit for accommodation – often required before moving in.
  • Travel expenses – flights, transportation, luggage.
  • Besides Erasmus grant, having your own savings is advisable.
03

Housing

Check if your university helps in finding accommodation. Before signing a lease, pay attention to the deposit amount and cancellation conditions.

  • Dormitory – a cheaper and more integrated option, not always available.
  • Private rental – offers more independence but comes with higher costs.
04

Health and Insurance

Before leaving, check the availability of doctors and hospitals at your destination. If you have chronic illnesses, find out how to access the necessary medications.

05

Social Life

To adapt quickly to your new environment, join student organizations such as Erasmus Student Network (ESN). Participate in integration events, trips, and international student meetings.

06

Language Courses

If you are not confident in the language of your destination country, check for available language courses. Some universities offer them for free to Erasmus students.

07

Organization

It’s best to take care of all formalities and reservations in advance – the sooner you start preparing, the less stress you’ll have before departure!
