Specialization >>Environmental Power System Engineering
Information of study:
The main purpose of the specialisation “Environmental Power System Engineering” is to give the graduates the required backgrounds, enabling them to design and operate environment protection systems and renewable power schemes in industry, the manufacturing sector, at the local level, in education and research. The curriculum contains subjects related to the design, operation and maintenance of dust-removal systems, elimination of gas pollutants in industry, waste management, water and waste water treatment and elimination of pollutants in transport.
Other subjects are related to the development, design, research, implementation of renewable power schemes (wind power plants, solar cells, photocells, hydroelectric plants, heat pumps, utilisation of biomass, production of biogas and biofuels, thermal power plants, geothermal plants).
The subject matter of senior projects, BSc and MSc theses is focused on analyses, design and technical issues associated with the design of advanced, high-efficiency environment protection installations and implementation of environment protection and renewable power schemes.

Graduate’s profile:
- excellent theoretical backgrounds enabling IT supported design of advanced, high-efficiency environmental installations for the municipal users and industry,
- theoretical and practical skills in the field of design, operation, maintenance and applications of renewable energy sources and resources in power engineering, civil engineering and agriculture, utilising the state-of-the art. e-learning methods,
- extensive laboratory course, projects, modelling classes using advanced applications, to prepare the graduates for individual research work, analyses of technological processes and operation of renewable power installations, environment-friendly schemes: wind power, solar energy, biofuels, hydroelectric schemes, geothermal engineering, heat pumps,
- good knowledge of economy, production management, marketing, environment protection as well as legal issues having relevance to intellectual property rights in Poland and UE so that they can fully utilise their engineering knowledge.
