PERVS'01 is addressed to people interested in philosophy of evolution theory and techniques of evolutionary computation. We expect to host the scientists presenting theoretical and practical results in both areas: philosophy and computer science.

The conference will take place in Krakow, one of the leading cultural and scientific centers of Poland, the former capital, a famous beautiful old town with the oldest Polish university - Jagiellonian University founded in 1364.
We hope that our work will be hard but in a friendly atmosphere. We are sure the place will make you feel comfortable more than at any other conference.

Call for papers

You are invited to submit a complete research paper or a proposal for a panel discussion. Paper submissions should be no longer than 8 pages (A4 paper, 12pt
font) or 5,000 words. Polish language is also accepted. The subject is not strictly limited to the topics given above. Papers should describe original unpublished research work. Submitted papers will be evaluated by two independent reviewers. All accepted papers will be published in the PERVS'01 Proceedings. Post-conference edition including selected papers is intended to be published as a monograph.

Each submission should include:

the title of the paper or panel discussion,
authors' names and affiliations,
address, phone number and e-mail of the corresponding author,
an abstract of no more than 100 words,
keywords giving a clear identification of the topic.

Authors’ Instructions

You are strongly encouraged to use LaTeX2e for the preparation of your camera-ready manuscript together with the corresponding class file pervs.cls .
If you are unable to use LaTeX, you may use MS Word together with the template pervs01.dot . In the latter case, please follow included instructions closely in order to make the volume look as uniform as possible. In file pervs01_word.zip you will also find a sample article.

Submission of camera-ready copies	December 10, 2001
Notification of acceptance	December 31, 2001

Conference Registration Fee

The conference registration fee is: $ 150.

The fee includes a copy of the conference proceedings.
