Research

The Laboratory is provided with the high quality equipment, that means the Autograv CG-3 and Worden Master gravimeters

Gravimetry and microgravimetry are the mainly used methods of investigations.
  • the quantitative and qualitative interpretation of surface and underground gravity measurements. Study on the new method of interpretation, reduction and corrections of gravity data.
  • exploration and structural evaluation of mineral deposits
  • exploration of karstic and erosion forms, caverns and old mine workings, employing microgravimetry for noninvasive evaluation of rock mass outside the shaft lining
  • predicting the development of deformation in discontinuous ground surface occurring as a result of the expansion of natural cavities and old mine workings; ground surface conservation studies within the scope of environmental protection, including mining areas and urban agglomerations, rail and road transport arteries
  • predicting the course of dynamic processes developing within rock mass as a result of mining exploitation, both during mining activity and after application of active countermeasures
  • microgravimetric studies to assess subsoil conditions under industrial structures, including hydroengineering works
  • microgravimetric studies to minimize excavation work in archeology.
