  6. Abstract: The aim of the work is to develop a biosignal acquisition protocol for investigation of the work of a group of muscles using the global method (sEMG). Next, the assumptions of the diagnostic method for selected diseases of the musculoskeletal system should be formulated. The most important scientific challenge is the synthesis of innovative methods of feature extraction with the application of the EMG signal transformation into various domains in order to propose a comparative analysis of EMG waveforms in the cases of selected mental and neurological diseases. The work should lead to the development of a criterion for the qualitative and quantitative assessment of EMG changes in selected activities of the control group (MVC) and diseases (NVC) as well as before and after treatment (intervention). It is planned to carry out verification and validation of the developed algorithms and methods based on the created medical datasets, and then evaluate the efficiency of the practical application of the developed methods in cooperation with the experts from the Jagiellonian University Medical College.
  7. Research facilities: During the research, the PhD student will have the access to the medical equipment and infrastructure of the AGH University of Science and Technology and the Medical College of the Jagiellonian University.
