My primary research interests span dependability, performance, and security of computer and communication networks.
I am particularly interested in solving real-world problems using advanced mathematical models and tools, such as optimization theory.
I am an Assistant Professor in the Space Technology Centre at the AGH University of Krakow, Poland, and a Postdoctoral Researcher at Telenor ASA, Norway.
I received my B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from the AGH University of Krakow in 2012, 2013, and 2017, respectively.
In 2015, I joined the QUAM Lab at NTNU (Trondheim, Norway) where I worked with Prof. Bjarne E. Helvik and with Telenor Research on dependability of Software-Defined Networks.
In summer 2018, I was a Visiting Research Fellow in the Communication Technologies group led by Prof. Stefan Schmid at the Faculty of Computer Science, University of Vienna, Austria.
Between 2018 and 2020, I was a member of the Management Committee of the "Resilient Communication Services Protecting End-User Applications From Disaster-Based Failures" European research initiative (COST CA15127 Action, RECODIS).
In March 2020, I joined the Networked Systems Research Laboratory led by Prof. Dimitrios Pezaros at the University of Glasgow, School of Computing Science, Glasgow, Scotland.
During a four-month appointment as a Research Associate and a member of the laboratory staff, I worked on network reliability and security in the context of systems located at the network edge.
Between October 2013 and July 2021, prior to joining the AGH Space Technology Centre, I conducted research and teaching activities related to communication networks in the Institute of Telecommunications at the AGH University of Krakow, Poland.
During a two-year term starting in January 2021 and ending in December 2022, I have been an Assistant to the Vice-President of the European Research Council (ERC) coordinating the Physical Sciences and Engineering domain.
In September 2023, I joined the Research and Innovation department at Telenor ASA, Norway, to perform research and development activities related to current and future communication infrastructures.
In 2009, I graduated from the Władysław Żeleński State Secondary School of Music in Kraków, Poland, where I learned to play organ under the guidance of Professor Andrzej Białko (the second instrument: piano).
From 1999 to 2003, I participated in multiple research-oriented activities organized by the Polish Children's Fund.
As a member of the Boys' Choir of the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic in Kraków between 1996 and 2003, I took part in several concerts organized in different countries in Europe.
I have a passion for aviation, especially sailplanes and air traffic control.
I am a licensed sailplane pilot and a member of the Leopold Kwiatkowski Aero Club in Łososina Dolna, Poland.
