Well, I am not sure whether it
is "sport" or not, but my way of considering skiing has nothing common with competitions.
In the past I tried to follow the rules of Polish Skiing Association, but
finally I had to give up in order to preserve the joy I had from the "white
fun". Probably nobody will follow my bad example in the piste, the risk to
meet me decreases as time goes by.
Another free-time activity I like is tourist sailing. Certainly it is nice to go faster
than the others, but nothing better than sailing proves that such a situation
may quickly reverse. The lake sailing has in common with hitch-hiking the
adventure I like of looking for the overnight place. The near contact with
the nature can not be overestimated and the sailor benefits the extremely
quiet "engine" propelling the boat, as long as he does not make noise by himself.
The spirit of common effort and work is also nice when supported by singing
a shanty occasionally (that is missing in the windsurfing: only you and the
mast on board). The board pulled after the yacht is for me a symbol of new
rich, sorry.
Surprisingly - even for me - I put dancing
in this domain. Certainly also considered as social activity. Perhaps because
the chapter "hobby" is already full? Anyway I like to dance occasionally and
in particular together with a willig partner, that beauty advantages would
be emphasised in motion. Dancing school? In the basic range of classic (waltz,
tango) and latin (rumba, samba) it should be obligatory since the age of
7. Dancing, similarly to other activities concerned in this chapter is a
motion opportunity to everyone "sitting at work" and thus very important.
And similarly to the guitar provides the relax so much needed, however in
case of dancing more "organisational" effort is necessary. It is pity that
only few dance in pairs today...
