1956 | At the Faculty of Metallurgy of University of Mining and Metallurgy (UMM) the Coke Industry Institute was appointed that is now regarded as a forerunner of the current Fuel Technology Group. |
1968 | The Coke Industry Institute was converted to the Department of Coke and Natural Gas Industry. |
1974 | A combination of Mining Chemistry and Physical Chemistry of Sorbents Institute and the Departments of Coke and Natural Gas Industry gave rise to the Institute of Coal Energochemistry and Physical Chemistry of Sorbents. After a few reorganisations the Institute became the current Faculty of Energy and Fuel. |
1985 | It was renamed the Institute of Coke and Natural Gas Industry. |
1991 | The Institute of Coke and Natural Gas Industry was divided into two parts: the Department of Energochemical Coals Processing and the Department of Carbon and Graphite Products Technology. |
2002 | The Department of Energochemical Coals Processing changed the name to the Department of Fuels Technology. |
2007 | A combination of the former Department of Fuels Technology with the Institute of Carbon and Inorganic Materials (formed on the basis of the Department of Carbon and Graphite Products Technology). As a result of the merger a "new" Department of Fuels Technology arose. The existing employees form Fuels Technology Group. |
