Celem projektu jest analiza transportu turbulentnych strumieni ciepła w obszarach recyrkulacyjnych. Rozwiązanie analityczne równania turbulentnego transportu ciepła pozwoliłoby otrzymać pełen opis zachodzących w przepływie przemian energetycznych, jednakże szczególnie złożony jego charakter uniemożliwia to przy dzisiejszym stanie wiedzy, nawet przy zastosowaniu daleko idących uproszczeń. Niemożność dokonania wystarczająco wiarygodnej numerycznej symulacji badanych zjawisk sprawia, że metody doświadczalne wciąż są niezbędnym "narzędziem poznawczym". Dodatkowym powodem ich stosowania jest konieczność eksperymentalnej weryfikacji rezultatów obliczeń numerycznych, aby można je było uznać za w pełni wiarygodne, dlatego też poznane wielkości turbulentnych strumieni ciepła mogą stanowić bazę danych dla modelowania turbulencji.
The theoretical analysis and the results of heat transfer measurements in the annular channel with recirculation zone is considered. The experimental methods are important for the understanding of turbulent flow. In the project the attention is paid to the turbulent heat flux measurements and then to calculation of budget of the particular turbulent heat flux components.
