Kraków - former capital, is one of the oldest Polish cities. It is a city of a long academic history. Here is located one of the oldest European universities - Jagiellonian University (founded in 1364). There are in Krakow more than 20 higher education institutions - universities, polytechnics, artistic, economic schools, and other. Krakow was a place where studied Mikołaj Kopernik. In Krakow lived for a while Maria Skłodowska-Curie. This is a city of Nobel Prize winning poets: Czesław Miłosz and Wisława Szymborska.
