Relational Databases

This chapter describes the Relational Model of Data, the most widely spread paradigm for database systems. It introduces relational algebra which defines basic operations for the model. It also gives a brief outline concerning query languages which serve as a communication method between the user and the database. Finally, it introduces Persistent Stored Modules, an extension which provides more sophisticated processing to the database.
