This chapter introduces Deductive Databases. The idea which emerged from intersection of Programming in Logic and Relational Databases [22] to provide extended data processing capabilities in databases. In most cases they are based on some model derived from Datalog or Prolog languages. This chapter also indicates a relationship between deductive and regular databases.
