Exhibition "Minerals from the collection of Professor Karol Bohdanowicz" - AGH University Main Library

We have a pleasure to invite you to the opening of the exhibition "Minerals from the collection of Professor Karol Bohdanowicz, an outstanding geologist of the 20th century and an extraordinary personality in the history of AGH," which will take place on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 13:00 in the exhibition hall of the AGH University Main Library on the first floor. The exhibition will be open until the end of April 2025.

In 2024, the 160th anniversary of Professor Karol Bohdanowicz’s birth was celebrated, while this year marks the 80th anniversary of him receiving the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from AGH and the title of Honorary Professor. The exhibition showcases for the first time over 100 minerals from the vast collection (6000 specimens of rocks and minerals) donated by him to the university.

The exhibition, organized by the Foundation for AGH, the Department of Geology of Mineral Deposits and Mining Geology at the Faculty of Geology, Geophysics, and Environmental Protection, and the AGH Main Library, inaugurates the 80th anniversary celebrations of the AGH Alumni Association. The exhibition curators are prof. Adam Piestrzyński and Jacek Szczerba.
