IES Scholarship
STUDENT ACTIVITIES PROGRAM
The Industrial Electronics Society strongly supports the development of students through conference participation. Registered students are welcome to participate in all technical sessions and social events, including the welcome reception, luncheons, and the gala dinner.
Students Scholarships
The IES Student Activities Committee of the Industrial Electronics Society (IES) offers financial support to the IEEE-IES Student Members to attend IES Conferences.
The IEEE-IES has allocated TWO student scholarships of 750 USD each to attend the IEEE ETFA 2012.
In order to participate in the IES Student Scholarship Program the applicants must fulfil the following conditions:
· be an active IEEE-IES Student Member;
· reside outside the city in which the conference is held;
· have a paper accepted at the Conference and be the person who will present it.
A paper cannot be awarded more than one scholarship. A person cannot receive more than one scholarship each year.
Students interested in the IES Student Scholarship Program should fill up an application form and collect some additional documentation (short CV, copy of the accepted paper and student status certification). Students should clearly indicate their IEEE membership number and their paper reference number. All material should be submitted in .PDF format by e-mail to:

Scholarships applications will be evaluated by a Committee constituted by the Chair of IES Student Activities Committee, IES President, Conference General Chair, and IES Treasurer. In case the number of applicants exceeds the budget, preference will be given to:
§ students with the best qualified papers according with the review of each conference
§ students who have not benefited from this program in the last two years.
Deadline to apply for a student scholarship is June 14th, 2012.
The results of the selection will be announced by June 28th, 2012.
Special note
Student Scholarships will be paid during conference. Recipients must submit to the IES Treasurer a U.S. tax form W-8 (non U.S. citizens) or W-9 (U.S. citizens).
