UNESCO Chair for Science, Technology and Engineering Education at the AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow, Poland, in shortness: UNESCO AGH Chair, was established as a result of agreements signed by the Director - General of UNESCO Mrs I. Bokova and H.E. Rector of AGH UST Prof. Dr hab. Eng. Antoni Tajdus (July 2010), and then a favorable opinion of the AGH UST Senate AGH (23.10. 2010) at the request of the Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Development Prof. Dr hab. Eng. Jerzy Lis on the appointment of new inter-faculty unit called the UNESCO AGH Chair (resolution no 123/2010). The AGH UST Senate also issued a positive opinion to the candidate of Prof. D. hab. Eng. Janusz Szpytko as the UNESCO AGH Chairholder (resolution no 124/2010).
