Aims of the project:

General objective:

The aim is to create a partnership between private and public agencies that will revitalise or convert these areas and reorient them toward new economic and social needs. Various models of intervention, in which public and private functions operate, will be created and compared. Links to European norms will be researched regarding the creation of mixed private/public companies to allow the projects to become feasible and working. The comparison will be centred on urban planning tools and above all on the unification of private and public financial resources in order to intervene synergistically. The general objective is to create a new legal and managerial body able to solve problems related to obsolete functions and their revitalisation.

Specific objective:

Identification of comparable situations in which productive, economic and social functions require revitalisation. Identification of related projects and analysis of their operative actions. Creation of feasibility studies and business plans. Involvement of private/public agencies which will participate in the project. Economic, managerial, specialist and juridical aid. Instruction of the partners and tutoring. Writing guidelines and comparison of different methods functioning in Cadses nations. Creation of case studies to publish and to publicise. Make the revitalisation of the project area feasible and therefore evaluate the efficiency of the action proposed in each state.
