Founded in 1988, the Department for Environmental Protection is resonsible
for the co-ordination of environmental planning and protection in the city
of Stuttgart, especially control of water, air, soil, wastes and energy
consumption, for nature and climate protection. The Department for
Environmental Protection is
- a department of the municipality of Stuttgart,
- is responsible for the investigation and remediation of about 800
contaminated sites in Stuttgart,
- employs about 180 experts from all disciplines relevant to natural
hazards and other environmental issues: civil service, civil engineering
and scientists,
- has experiences in the management of projects on European level.
Different projects on European level, e.g.
Stuttgart is involved in different EU funded trans national projects. The
